Custom Roll End Tuck Top Boxes
The Treasure Chest of Product Packaging
A custom box style designed for kits, samples, and small product packaging.
Custom Roll End Tuck Top Boxes
Strong, Practical Design
Roll end tuck top (RETT) boxes combine strength and utility in a simple folding carton design. This unglued style is manually assembled, with sides that roll over and lock on the inside to form double-thick walls. That extra thickness gives the box strength and helps hold it together, while the closing lid tucks neatly into the front for a secure closure.
Reliable, Everyday Use
Roll end tuck boxes have been a product packaging staple for years — strong, economical, and stackable with a hinged “treasure chest” lid. The roll end tuck top box is one version of this design, where the lid tucks inside the front panel.
When opened, everything inside is visible at once, making them excellent small product boxes. Add inserts or dividers, and they quickly transform into organized kit and sample boxes.

When Should You Consider Roll End Tuck Top Boxes?
Roll End Tuck Top boxes are a good choice if:
• An initial product reveal is important
• A more substantial packaging feel matters
• You want a practical, low-cost box style for everyday products
• You need specialized kit boxes for assays, samples, starter kits, etc.
It’s All About the Reveal
Roll End Tuck Top boxes are a good choice when you need a box that showcases the product when opened. The side walls of this design fold over and lock inside, creating a sturdy box with a more substantial feel. This advantage is especially noticeable with wider, shallower products, where the shorter box depth makes the carton feel even sturdier and more substantial.
And when customized as a kit box with inserts and compartments, multiple components are neatly displayed for easy access.
Tuck Top Boxes vs. Tuck Front Boxes
Roll end tuck boxes come in two versions that are identical except for how they close. A Roll End Tuck Top (RETT) box, sometimes referred to as a tuck top box, tucks the lid inside the front panel, while a Roll End Tuck Front (RETF) box closes over the front panel and locks in place.
If presentation is important, however, Roll End Tuck Front boxes are often the better choice, since the outer tuck hides the cut edge of the front panel. This creates a cleaner look and a more secure closure.

Cardstock.... or Paperboard?
The paper behind your packaging matters
You may have seen box specs like “18pt cardstock” online — but not all 18pt paper is created equal.
• Cardstock: A thick paper used for crafts, postcards, and invitations. It’s cheaper and technically works for light packaging — but it lacks the stiffness and durability needed for most product boxes.
• Paperboard: A stiffer material engineered specifically for packaging. It folds cleanly, glues reliably, and holds its shape to protect your product — and your brand — on the shelf.
The key is knowing what you’re buying. In retail, your product box is what closes the sale — so it needs to perform and look its best. That’s why we use a quality paperboard — so your packaging doesn’t just hold together, it helps sell what’s inside.
